Quite late for 2006 posting. Anyway, this is something new for me -- a coffee house that advocates fair trade and serve organic coffee. Only two branches in California both located in Sacramento. I visited their Elk Grove branch, had their coffee of the day and surf their web site. Port City Java is wired, I can connect my notebook wirelessly for FREE (unlike Starbucks, where you need a T-Mobile hotspot subscription), and I like their site -- simple, informative. The house is also an art hub where paintings and art works of local artists are displayed, getting a feel of the local art scene. Everytime I go to coffee houses, I remember the communities in Sulu, Mindanao where they grow, brew and serve coffee. If only they can link their coffee internationally... why not?
